More than two decades after the R34 Skyline GT-R left production, Hoshino Impul has put a newly designed front bumper for the BNR34 on sale. The company announced it on September 9 and opened orders the following day. It costs ¥253,000 in Japan including consumption tax, or ¥230,000 before tax, supplied in unpainted FRP; paint and installation are not included.
R34 GT-R fitment, price and design
Impul lists the bumper for all BNR34 Skyline GT-Rs, with the note "excluding NISMO Z-tune equipped vehicles." The company says the symbolic center opening follows the design of the "GT Bumper," an earlier product Impul made, and that it carries over that design essence while pursuing harmony with the BNR34's sharp factory styling. The release does not identify the original GT Bumper's period or vehicle application, and we could not establish it from the announcement or the coverage.
On the functional side, Impul says the wide center intake improves intercooler cooling efficiency — a design claim from the maker, not a comparative test result — and that the side intakes and ducts are shaped to flow into the car's original front fender lines.
How the bumper fits Impul's R34 plans
Impul, the Nissan tuning house founded by racing driver Kazuyoshi Hoshino, says it feeds experience and know-how gained in motorsport back into its production parts, which span aero, wheels, suspension and engine components.
The bumper follows Impul's earlier announcement of an R34-based project planned for September 2026. The company has not publicly linked the two announcements, so this should currently be regarded as a standalone parts release.
For an R34 GT-R owner, that makes it a newly manufactured alternative to hunting down discontinued period aero secondhand — heritage-inspired styling available as a new part. In Japan, Impul lists Garage IMPUL and Nissan dealerships nationwide as the sales channels. Overseas ordering and pricing are not addressed.
